Retail Refurbishments

Client: Tesco Kensington
Project Value: 100k
Contract period: 14 Days

Specialist Woodworking Interiors has worked closely with the designer to ensure that this new roll-out concept works correctly, down to the fine detail.

We manufactured and installed a full size mock up of the new Euphorium Bakery. Once all concerned had tweaked the design and altered various items to suit the new merchandise, we produced workshop drawings showing how the manufactured joinery would look, we also integrated a number of specialist catering equipment into the details to ensure all the elements would work correctly.

We had only a 3 week lead in before we started work on site. The team in the workshop worked really hard to deliver all the bespoke joinery.

Once on site it was programmed to have a day and a night shift working around the clock to deliver the new concept bakery. The site works included strip-out of all existing fittings and finished to walls, ceilings and floors, then the "fit-out" over two floors. This included a fine seating area with banquet seating and soft furnishings, complete with a seamless glass balustrade and traditional bespoke timber panelling.

To the ground floor, the main service refrigerated counter and rear counter incorporating all the elements of catering equipment required to allow the Euphorium Bakery to operate. We finished the woodwork including the traditional timber paneling on site to a specialist finish as per the clients instructions.

Everything from "Rip-Out to Handover" was within the agreed 14 days, leaving the client fully operational. Both the client everyone that was involved in the completed project felt extremely proud of the end result.

Specialist Woodworking Interiors wish the client continued success and look forward to working with them on their next project.

During the initial tender process, Specialist Woodworking Interiors devoted time with the architect and client to fully understand their needs and vision for the space which was to be developed and how it was to be used.

From this we were then able to provide a full and accurate tender which specified the complete scope of works and priced each and every item, allowing us and the client to fully understand the projects true costs and deliverables, in a transparent and clear manner.

After a competitive tender process, via the architect’s practice, we were successful in being awarded the project.

The complete project was delivered the complete project as per our scope of works and at the agreed budget, from building stud walls and plastering. Applying over 21 different floor tiling finishes, with many bespoke handmade kitchens and bathroom suits installed in the retail showroom. The whole electrical package was under our control from fire and intruder alarm installation right through the emergency lighting, including showroom and special concession feature lighting.

Included in the contract was major building and enabling works, also a 17 metre hardwood shop front and sign frame complete with bespoke double entrance doors and all paving and tarmac to the whole of the front elevation area.

When all works were nearing completion we carried out the decoration element on the project where attention to detail is everything, using all the specialist paint finished from the clients our range that future customers can purchase on use in their own homes, clearly, it had to be finished correctly.

The complete project, had to be controlled through the local council due the its location and local residence, all deliveries / scaffolding had to be booked in prior to the delivery date.

All handed over to the client, on the day we agreed before the contract commenced, all within the agreed cost plan and budget.
